What We Do

Philip Booth Cabinetmakers specialize in designing, constructing and installing Kitchen cabinets, Bathroom Vanity units, Wardrobes and Laundries. However we also have had considerable experience in commercial work such as reception desks and counters, office workstations and document storage cabinets.

If you have had your own designs drawn up we are more than happy to use your own architect or Interior design drawings and in the past have had great results. We also offer the feature of being a one stop shop. We will co-ordinate the different trades required to complete the job in a smooth no fuss manner, but should you want to use your favourite electrician or plumber for any part of the job we are happy to work with your choice of tradesman for the job.

Design
It‘s amazing how much time can be wasted in a kitchen walking back and forth just to do a simple tasks. Thinking about what you are doing and what need to perform that task is important when designing the layout of your new kitchen.

Sometimes the layout of the room (doors and windows) and the services (power and water) can restrict the design. We like to sit down with you and discuses your likes and dislikes at the same time take into consideration the room's size and shape. Once a basic idea of the design has been formed we can produce a scaled drawing for your approval.

Doors & Vertical Surfaces
Like everything else the choice seems to be endless from flat panel melamine to high gloss with a routered profile or a worm solid timber.

We have a huge range of sample colours and finishes that we can bring to your home to help make decision a little easier. There a quite a number of colour board suppliers that we source material from. Vinyl doors, drawer fronts and end panels are also very popular as they can range from a basic flat panel with rounded edges to a very bold routered profile and covered a wide colour range of vinyl's can make for a very durable finish to your kitchen. We use and recommend another local company called Flex Corporation for all our vinyl and profiling needs.

Splashbacks
In my opinion a splashback is something that can really finish off the look of a kitchen. Tiles are still very popular and cost effective and we can arrange a qualified tiler to lay your choice of tiles, but for that extra zing a glass splashback may be the way to add that extra stylish look.

They can be painted any colour to blend in with your colour scheme or you can make it into be a bold feature. Graphic Glass has helped many of our clients finish off their new kitchen with professionally installed splashback

What Are People Looking For In A New Kitchen?
I suppose when you think about it you spend quite a lot of time in your kitchen and so it makes sense that it is a nice place to be in.

People seem to gravitate towards the kitchen when they enter a house and so having a kitchen that you are proud of is not only enjoyable but is also a good investment as it adds value to your home. Having a kitchen that looks good is great, but a well designed kitchen is also very important and will make working in it more enjoyable.

Finding the right mix between design, aesthetics and affordability is an important way to approach your new kitchen.
Bench Tops
Stone bench tops are very popular and weather you choose from Granite, Marble or Reconstituted stone you would give your kitchen a real modern look and feel.

We have dealt with the same stone mason for a number of years and have found him and his team to reliable and have a very high standard. Allan Lawler owner operator of Galaxy Stone Pty Ltd has many years experience in the industry not only with kitchen bench tops but also commercial work. www.galaxystone.net.au

Don't forget laminated bench tops are still a big part of many modern kitchens. Laminated bench tops have been around for a long time and have shown to be not only cost effective but also very durable thanks to modern materials used in there manufacture. The Laminex Group are just one of the many suppliers we use and recommend in the construction of our kitchens and cabinet work.
Hardware & Handles
Kitchen hardware has really changed over the years, I can remember when I was an apprentice timber drawer runners where used in a lot of furniture, now soft close drawers and doors can be the norm.

But at the same time the budget on your new kitchen is something that has to be kept in mind. The BLUM brand of hardware starts with a range of drawers that offer quality at a captivate price right up to the top of the range electric drawers that can be opened with just a push, no handles needed. Keep in mind that a modern designed handle can really add a finishing touch to your kitchen and not just be practical.

We have purchased most our hardware for as long as I can remember from Lincoln Sentry www.lincolnsentry.com.au
